Why English Feels So Unpredictable
Even After Years of Tuition

The real problem isn’t your child’s effort. It’s the way English is taught as an art, not a science.

Hi, I’m Teacher Daniel. For over a decade I’ve worked with students who study hard and do well in Math and Science but cannot seem to stabilise their English results. They come to me with the same story: one paper is fine, the next drops sharply. The reasons are rarely effort. It is usually comprehension gaps, inaccurate sentence structure, or poor PEEL organisation.

The problem we face today is that English is often taught without structure, leaving students to rely on guesswork instead of a clear system. Most tuition depends on drills and worksheets instead of a system that explains how marks are earned. Students are told to memorise phrases or apply templates but never taught the thinking process behind them. Many simply follow patterns blindly and hope the marker understands.

When that happens, results depend entirely on what is tested. If the paper focuses on areas they know, they do well. If comprehension or summary carries more weight, they fall behind. Paper 1 may go well, but comprehension pulls everything down. The outcome feels random because it is. Parents see inconsistency, but in reality, it is the absence of a framework that connects all parts of the exam.

It’s not that your child isn’t trying. They simply don’t know what they don’t know, so they guess. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they miss the point. Without a clear system that links thinking, writing, and feedback, improvement cannot be repeated. When progress cannot be repeated, confidence disappears.

That is why we built a system that makes English improvement measurable, structured, and predictable, the same way Math improvement is!

How We Turn English Learning Into A Predictable Process

By giving students a clear 3 Parts System that replaces guesswork with
replicable steps for consistent results.

Most tuition follows the same cycle: teach a topic, assign practice, mark scripts, and hope students improve.

We don’t rely on hope.

We rely on a proprietary system that breaks the English exam down into measurable parts so students know exactly what to do, why marks were lost, and how to improve.

Our PECSI + QA System, refined through over 5,000 lessons in the past decade, transforms scoring in English from guesswork into a clear, repeatable process!

1. PECSI Framework — The Thinking Structure

Every student learns to build essay and oral answers using one reasoning sequence: Point, Explain, Context, Substantiate, Implication.

This framework replaces guesswork with clarity.

When students follow PECSI, they develop structured thinking, and can turn scattered ideas into clear, logical answers.

2. QA System — The Feedback Loop

Each comprehension question is analysed through a Question–Analysis framework that breaks down:

• what the question demands,
• how to structure the response, and
• where marks are gained or lost.

This method converts subjective feedback into concrete steps.

Students get to understand why they scored what they did and how to replicate success in the next paper.

3. Continuous Refinement – Identify What to do differently when errors occur

After every exercise, students will review what went well, what went wrong, and what to do differently.

This process eliminates repeated mistakes and strengthens weak areas before the next test.

That’s how Improvement stops being accidental and becomes predictable instead.

When learning follows structure and a predictable process,
results stop fluctuating.

That is how we make English predictable, and consistently scorable
at national exams like the Os.

Real People; Real Results

Consistency is the ultimate proof of progress.

When a student’s results hold steady across different papers at the
National Exams, that’s not luck but predictability at work.

University Scholar

Teacher Daniel taught me from Pri 4 until Sec 4. Over the years in his class, I really appreciated how the application focused teaching methods taught by him enabled me to not only strengthen my language skills, but more importantly helped me to hone my critical thinking ability and communication skills. The skills I’ve learnt from him stayed with me even after I graduated from Secondary school, and were crucial for my successful scholarship application.

Medical Doctor

I first met Teacher Daniel when I was a P5 student at Tao Nan School. Even at that age, I could see that the way in which he approached learning was very different from others. He focused on purposeful learning, and would always explain the rationale for anything he taught. His patience was also something I appreciated as I was an inquisitive child who asked many questions in class.
